In the years that Plumb Line has been in business we have experienced a significant amount of growth.  As we have grown and continue to do so we realize that keeping our employees free of injuries is not just a priority, it’s the most important thing to our business.

Plumb Line has invested significantly in developing processes, procedures, and tools for our employees as well as provided them with the trainings necessary so they can go home at the end of the day healthy and free of injuries.  Some of the processes, procedures and tools include:

• Full time safety director

• Workplace inspections for all departments

• Periodic safety audits  with the intention to continually improve
• Pre employment drug screening as well as random, reasonable suspicion, and post incident drug & alcohol testing
• A trenching and excavation program
• Spirometry and fit testing and many more

We understand however, that a safety culture is not just defined by the number of processes or procedures we have, or how well they’re written, safety culture is rather defined by the strong belief by company leaders down to our employees that implementation and execution of such will lead to the prevention of incidents which is the key.

A good indication that the processes, procedures, and tools have worked for us and that the investment has paid off and continues to do so, is the positive trend that shows continuous increase of man hours and continuous decrease of incidents year after year, leading to incident rates to be well below the national average in our type of industry for several consecutive years.  It is also an indication that our safety culture grows stronger every day.
